The Terrace & District Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce that nominations are now open for the 2026 Business Excellence Awards, celebrating the outstanding businesses and individuals who help our region thrive through innovation, leadership, service, and community involvement.

How the Awards
Process Works
August 1–31 – Community Nominations
Anyone can submit a nomination! Customers, employees, colleagues, community members, and businesses themselves are encouraged to nominate deserving candidates. Nominations identify outstanding businesses—they are not counted as votes.
September 1–21 – Nominee Applications
Eligible nominees will be invited to complete an application highlighting their achievements, successes, and contributions.
September 22 – October 7 – Independent Judging
An independent panel of judges will evaluate each application using a standardized scoring process to ensure fairness and transparency.
October 7 – Finalists Announced
Three finalists in each category will be announced and recognized throughout the community.
November 6 – Winners Revealed
Join us for an unforgettable evening as we celebrate excellence in business at the 2026 Business Excellence Awards Gala.
Award Categories
Business of the Year – Recognizing an outstanding business that demonstrates excellence in leadership, growth, customer service, and community involvement.
Emerging Business of the Year – Recognizing a business operating for three years or less that has shown exceptional growth, innovation and promise.
Business Leader of the Year – Honours an individual whose leadership has positively impacted their organization and the Terrace business community.
Employer of Choice – Recognizes an organization that creates an outstanding workplace through employee engagement, development and culture.
Customer Service Excellence – Recognizes a business that consistently provides exceptional service and creates memorable customer experiences.
Innovation Award – Celebrates businesses that embrace creativity, innovation, technology, or new ways of doing business.
Community Impact Award – Recognizes a business or organization that demonstrates outstanding commitment to giving back through volunteerism, partnerships, and community leadership.
Retail & Hospitality Excellence – Recognizes excellence in retail, restaurants, tourism, accommodations, and hospitality.
Trades & Industrial Excellence – Recognizes excellence within construction, manufacturing, transportation, resource industries, utilities and skilled trades.
Indigenous Business Excellence – Celebrates an Indigenous-owned business or organization demonstrating outstanding leadership, entrepreneurship, and community impact
Young Entrepreneur – Recognizing a young business person under the age of 30 who had made an impact by demonstrating leadership, innovation, business growth, and commitment to the local community.
